TALOSEL - jewelry resin, is considered the lightest synthetic jewelry resin in the world. TALOSEL is the name given by LINE VAUTRIN (1913-1997), to a material made of cellulose acetate, scientifically known as rhodoid. This patented term of the 1950s is an abbreviation for aceTAte de celluLOSe ELaboré (developed cellulose acetate).
MONIQUE VEDIE was a student of LINE VAUTRIN, with whom she "discovered" and patented the famous French jewelry resin - TALOSEL RESIN. MONIQUE VEDIE was born in the 1920s and was a student of Line Vautrin in Paris, where she studied the famous jewelery process with TALOSEL resin. When MONIQUE VEDIE founded its jewelry manufacturing company CILEA in Paris, TALOSEL resin was already widely known, but MONIQUE VEDIE further increased the popularity of this material due to the revolutionary, for that time, variety of colors and shades. Ornaments of the period 1950-1970gg were not labeled, since they were produced almost in single copies and were supplied with only paper labels.
Virtually all the ornaments made by MONIQUE VEDIE are rare and collectible.
